Things a school library should have.
Library Brisbane Grammar- The library page has contact information, along with news and events that were running in the library. They included an Ebook of the week. Also they had opening hours of the middle school library and senior school library. The school even had blogs that you could visit. They also include a staff area. They have a link to audiobooks and ebooks.
Gordon West Library- this is a public school. They have a lot of information on the webpage. They include information about what they're teaching the students, they include videos about the future of the library. They include reviews links to reviews and other websites on there page. Once again they have contact information.
Footscray College- A little disappointing not much information actually on the website. I remember they use to have a much larger website before they re did the webpage. But they do still have there library blog. They include a lot information about class sets and computers and how to access them.
Using Blogger or Wordpress to make a website.
If you wanted to use Blogger to make a website would be nice, due to the fact that Blogger is a very simple web program. Most people would get freaked out thinking about all the code they will have to use to actually make a website, they would opt out for an easy alternative, hello blogger or wordpress.
But not everything is as sunny as it seems when it comes to using free web programs. The blogger software can only let you do so many things. You're not actually in control of what can happen with website e.g. the website might be closed down due unpopularity. Or a company being sold out.

Resources for a library to make a website.
Here are some information that a library can use to make a website, hopefully this can guide a library into how to make a website.
Create a website.- I really like this webpage, it gives you little helpful hints to how to create a website. It also has many tips on how to use wordpress as a webpage. Also the webpage tells you how to get a domain name but of course that comes with a cost (nothing is free in this world anymore) It also has helpful links to how to learn about how to keep hosting a website, it also has a link to how to use dreamweaver. It also gives you advice on what web hosting sites you can choose to use.
Make a website, wikihow.- Wikihow is always a good website to find information. You can always find the right type of information because so many people are contributing. They seem to go into much more detail than the other website about to make a basic webpage. They also give you photos to show you exactly what you're meant to be doing. Isn't that nice.
Webpage Design, free consultation. This website will actually make you a website. It also gives you a free consultation. They seem to be a very reputable source with many clients giving them a thumbs up. And they even have packages you can buy to keep your website maintain. They have a reputable source with the company being founded in 1997.
20 useful resources to make a website. This is a webpage that gives you some useful websites to look at if you want to create a webpage. They have a name and a photo with a little description of what the company can do for you. Most of the descriptions are simple with a few sentences.
How to crate a webpage. A nice little youtube video that gives you some detail about how to create a very basic webpage. It's a bit long, you might want to have a cup tea while watching it. It does have some good tips and it is well explained, I'll give them that.

Most important things on a library website.
What do you expect from a library's website?
Well I expect
-A link to the catalouge, so the public can find things and put reserve on items.
-Links to events, always good to know whats happening in your local community.
-Information about the library E.g Opening hours and locations of libraries,
-A search bar to find important things about the library, so you can find information that is relevant to what the user needs.
-Links to other council related thing.
-Languages other than English, so users other than English can read what the library has and whats happening in the library.
-A new book section with new titles and authors, this would be nice for the users to see what new books there are to borrow.
-A section for help e.g. ask a librarian, the users always need some support from the library staff.

Pros and con free software
PROS
Well it's free and everyone likes free stuff.
You can change the coding.
You can copy what someone else has done.
You can find support within the industry.
You can always tutorials on the software. Good ol' youtube.
CONS
Not as much support you would get with something you've brought.
Can take a while to get your head around the software.
It can be a bit buggy.
The website may make you pay for certain benefits of the software.

Libraries websites that I enjoy. - Comp task 1.
These are some links to some library websites I like and have visited in the past.
State Library Of Victoria
I really like the State Library website because it has a vast range of information about Victoria. I enjoy reading about the history of Victoria and Melbourne and how the library has preserved it. I like how on the website has links from the community, which includes blogs and posts. I really like the State Library, I've visited it many times, and the website is very easy to use. I really like the background of the State Library. I really like the 'Ask A Librarian' section they have up.
ACMI
Acmi is good place to find old Australian television shows and movies. They include all the exhibitions that are on at ACMI at the moment. It also has a variety of information, the website doesn't have any lag, and it quickly to gets to anything you need. You know me I enjoyed anything from back in the day. It also has the Hollywood costume display on, which is pretty rad! I haven't found anything I dislike about the ACMI website.
Maribyrnong Library
This is my local library. I spent most of childhood here reading and hanging out. They give you information on how to use computers and how to use mobile deceives. They have a massive catalogue, and they're pretty okay with renewing items a few times. The staff are helpful and lovely. They show films which as multicultural backgrounds. I find the website very clunky as well. The library website is very laggy, and it takes a while to load some basic pages.
National Library Of Australia
This is a given. Everyone should the NLA as a link, it's an amazing library with an amazing Australian collection. The easy is very easy to use, it allows to do searches on every little things. On the website you can even do a family history search, who knows I could be related to a convict without even knowing. (I most likely will be)
Honston Bay
Hobstons Bay library is really good website, it actually is better than most libraries websites. They include an I want section with all the things you need at your finger tips. They also have Zinio with free magazine downloads. And they include a massive language section. The catalogue for hobston is pretty good. They have links to a facebook page, a twitter and even a youtube channel with videos about how to use the self check out system! The only thing that annoys me about this website is that it can be laggy.
